I was in seventh grade when I first saw the film The Outsiders. This is when I was first introduced to poetry in a way that stuck with me for the rest of my life. In the film, one of the characters quotes the Robert Frost poem ââ¬â¢Nothing Gold Can Stay.ââ¬â" I didnââ¬Ët really understand the meaning of the poem at the time, but for some reason the poem stayed with me. I had only just heard it and already almost had it memorized. It is a beautiful poem that has a meaning within a meaning and one that seems to make more sense with every new stage of my life. When I first heard the poem, it didnââ¬Ët make a lot of sense to me, even though Johnny explains it at the end of the film.
